Mental health consultation
FOR A HAPPY AND HEALTHY LIFE
WHAT IS A NURSE PRACTITIONER SPECIALIZED IN MENTAL HEALTH?
Nurse practitioners are specialized nurses. This title is reserved in Quebec for nurses with a master's degree (graduate studies diploma). Nurses can specialize in various fields. In this case, our nurse practitioners specialized in mental health (NPS-MH) can support you in all aspects concerning your mental health condition.
The NPS-MH is qualified to assess mental disorders and intervene with individuals with mental disorders and their families using therapeutic interventions other than psychotherapy as defined by the Psychotherapist Permit Regulation. They are also authorized to prescribe medical treatments and various health tests.

PREVENTION OF COGNITIVE DECLINE
Cognitive degeneration or neurocognitive disorders are characterized by a loss of mental faculties that reduce a person's ability to take care of themselves independently. There is a decline in performance in one or more cognitive domains such as memory, complex attention, executive functions, language, visuomotor functions, or social skills.
